HELP!!!

This weekend is my cousins birthday. Well my cousin is my best friend and of course we enable each other all the time!! She has the same tradition every year, celebrate her birthday at a resturaunt with family and friends. I can avoid the food no problem but it’s the alcohol that I can’t avoid!! I was thinking of making some excuse to not go but I can’t find any and I would feel too guilty. We are probably going to a bar afterwards, I was just thinking of taking shots all night to avoid the calories! Anybody got any ideas of what to do?!

Do you like beer? They have the low carb beers now that are actually pretty tasty. I can usually get one of those and sip on it. Sometimes I’ll go for two. I know beer isn’t as fun as the fancy drinks but if you want to go to have fun with your cousin make it about your cousin and not the drinks. That’s my struggle at restaurants…to make it about the company I’m with and not about the food. Hang in there. :)

I agree with Sandi, I’m sure beer has less calories. What about just getting less drinks and savoring it. After a few I’m sure the rest of the party won’t remember how much you drank.

Hmmm shots gets me drunk quick, unless that’s what you want…?????

Good luck - sorry, not much help.

Miller light here you come, lol. 96 cal. or wine, which I think has about 100 per normal size glass, then you can sip. What the hell though, it’s a celebration. That’s life! Just plan ahead! Exercise a little extra, eat a lil’ less this week. (Make sure you eat at the restuarant though!) Fat girl on diet, falling off chair….lol been there!!! Maybe not quite but close enough=) Have fun, and live life, otherwise you will never be able to stick to this. YOU CAN do this!!! You WILL do this!!! Keep doing what your doing!!!

celebrations are always good and you DEFINATLEY dont want to deprive yourself, but at the same time, if you feel like you will feel guilty about cheating on your program afterwards and it will stop you from being motivated, then i wouldnt do it. when im doing really great on my diet, its not good for me to cheat, or to celebrate, or splurge. so its up to you. if you think you have the willpower to go back to dieting afterwards, then go for it! celebrate it up! its just one day, and it can jump start your metabolism, switching it up.
just know that whatever you do, you can succeed!

It’s great you’re preplanning this… I was going to tell you I wouldn’t do a bunch of shots cause they’re still loaded with calories… I just read something in a magazine stating if your going to drink stop at 3 anything after that is going to send you in a spiral cause more than likely you’ll start getting drunk and order more which leads to other things like mindless eating… oh and do make sure you eat I get buzzed off of one drink even if I’ve eaten now that I’ve been dieting and don’t drink unless these occasions occur. Have fun girl stick with the 2 drinks you’ve decided on and have fun!!
